This is very, very strange for me. I’m not used to writing overwhelmingly positive reviews about Chrysler products. Don’t get me wrong — I love Chryslers. My first car was a K-Car, and when I’m not driving review cars, I putter around town in a 1969 Dodge Polara. My stepfather met my mother when he sold her a used Plymouth Scamp, and when they got married, our family car was a Dodge Dart. His sales commissions on Grand Caravans helped put me through college. But things have gone awry over the past few years, and it seems that even my favorite Chryslers have been riddled with flaws.
That’s changing, and it’s changing fast. Case in point: The 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8. Okay, you may be thinking that with 465 horsepower, what’s not to love? And the answer to that lies in the previous versions of the SRT8 cars. Yeah, they were hella fast and made noises that, to a car nut, qualify as pornography. But they also had cheap interiors and indifferent handling. It was the price you paid for the mega-engine.
300′s interior, dark as it is, is a huge improvement over previous Chryslers.
That’s not the case with the new 2012 300 SRT8. Take away the engine — the glorious, addictive-as-crack engine — and you’re still left with a magnificent car (albeit one that won’t go anywhere unless you push it). The 300′s interior has done a complete 180; it’s now a proper luxury vehicle with high-grade materials and excellent fit and finish. The controls feel good in your hands. The infotainment system and iPod integration are excellent. The steering responds properly. The ride is comfortable, as befits a proper luxury car. The options list includes nice-to-haves like active cruise control and a navigation system powered by Garmin software. It’s got a Texas-size back seat and a mafia-size trunk. And all around is a feeling of solidity that has been missing in Chrysler products since… well, thinking back to my boyhood days riding around in the Dart, since ever.

The Chrysler 300 is the Q-ship of the SRT8 line in the same way a flamethrower is the stealthy alternative to a bazooka. There is substantially more style to the standard car’s swagger, despite the absence of significant exterior modification during the SRT8 transformation. The 300 simply receives a tastefully appointed dark grille and muted gray chrome wheels.
Underneath the blend of distinctly American and (borrowed) Bentley cues lies a surprising and immensely gratifying machine. At 4.5 seconds to 60 mph, and 13.0 seconds to the quarter mile, the Chrysler will show its taillights to a supercharged Audi A7 and a twin-turbo BMW 550i. While losing, they’ll also be forced to listen to the fantastic bellow emerging from the single-cam 6.4-liter V-8 as it grunts outs 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. (Inexplicably, the 300 SRT8 is two-tenths slower in a straight line than the identically equipped Charger SRT8).

So long as it has the larger Pirelli PZeros the last A7 we tested wore, that Audi will pull away from the 300 around our figure eight. The 300′s 25.8-second figure-eight lap time is a victim of its Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires, which are the most aggressive rubber option. Here we have a philosophical dilemma: While grippier, larger tires would certainly make the 300 faster, they may not make it more fun. The SRT team has done a terrific job with the current equipment, making this large sedan a sublime driver’s car. You simply don’t expect the level of control and communication it provides. Each component relays its intent and needs, and somehow this 4387-pound sedan feels malleable in your hands. Mild understeer is the default response, but the gas pedal acts as a yaw input device. Careful throttle control can induce easy mid-corner corrections. Have a heavy right foot? Slam it down and you can drift until the tires disappear. The eagerness with which the 300 powerslides approaches the space reserved for the M3.

In 1995, the Chrysler Sebring was launched as a roomy, mid-size sedan. This beautiful touring vehicle has been well-known for its long, beautiful, wind-swept lines and low-to-the-ground design that resembled a hover craft cruising along the open roads. Just like the winged Chrysler logo, Sebring suggested that drivers could coast like a gentle breeze along the winding roads.
Design
The convertible option added a touch of luxury without breaking the bank. Chrysler Sebrings are known for having a large wide body with plenty of leg room and trunk space. Due to its wider, larger size, the Sebring has a reputation for being a good ride.
Changes
Chrysler has struggled through a series of owners, who are trying to save the proud brand. With the Fiat ownership team in place during Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, many customers want to know what the future holds for their favorite models, like the 2012 Chrysler Sebring.
The latest rumors suggest that the 2012 Chrysler Sebring will be given a refreshed look by possibly removing some of the ribs in the hood of the latest models.
Future
Eventually, the Chrysler Sebring might be reincarnated as the Chrysler 200C when Fiat has enough time to engineer a major restructuring. This would fit in with the European naming conventions, which prefer numbers. Fiat is still working out the details.
There had been some confusion when Cerberus, the previous owner, had announced that it would end production of the Sebring after 2010. Fiat seems to want the Sebring brand to continue at least into 2012. Fiat continues to work the details out for the 2012 release.
Safety Features
The Chrysler Sebring has many attractive safety features including the Five-Star frontal impact crash test rating, air bags, and Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS).
Glimpses of the future for the Sebring were unveiled at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show when the Chrysler 200C was presented. The traditional Chrysler wide U-shaped grille was retained. The Chrysler 200C lines were more rounded around the wheels.

Chrysler’s full-size sedan, the 300, started production back in 2005 after appearing as a concept at the 2003 New York Auto Show. Available in five different variants (LX, Touring, Limited, 300C, and SRT8), the Chrysler 300 can be a steady family car or a more powerful people pusher.

Hide your kids, hide your wife, hide your husband. One of the four-horsemen of the apocalypse has officially arrived. Consumer Reports has gone and paid Chrysler a compliment by saying that the 2011 Durango and Charger are the company’s most-improved models and, on the whole, the automaker’s cars are getting better.

2011 Dodge Durango: First Drive

CR even awarded both the V6 and V8-powered Dodge Durango a “Very Good” road test score, putting it in contention with the likes of the 2011 Ford Explorer. The 2011 Dodge Charger Rallye also nabbed a “Very Good” rating, which is comparable to the 2011 Ford Taurus and 2011 Buick Lacrosse.
Even the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan walked away with the honor of a “Very Good” designation, but things aren’t all lollipops and rainbows. Consumer Reports says that its testers were unimpressed with models like the 200, Avenger, Compass, Journey and Patriot, calling the vehicles mediocre. Ouch.

Mopar brings a custom touch to the Chrysler 300 with grilles and wheels. Chrysler has officially unveiled the new 2011 300 model, which is completely different than 300C model.
2011 Chrysler 300 features a billet grill, LED-infused custom headlights, a rakish windscreen, and nice bodywork. To improve the aerodynamics and the visibility, the engineers took the windshield back with 3 inches, while the rolled-framed doors with thinner pillars improved outward visibility by 15 percent. A new dual-pane panoramic sunroof is available, which provides twice the outward visibility of a standard sunroof.
The interior boasts better quality of the materials, but the design is very familiar. However, among the options list, there are heated and cooled Nappa leather seats, a two-piece sunroof, and Uconnect Touch with an 8.4″ screen, which gives all information that you need.
The new Chrysler 300 is powered by either 3.6 liter V6 with 296PS (218 kW) and 353Nm (260 lb-ft) or 5.7 liter HEMI V8 with 375PS (276 kW) and 536Nm (395 lb-ft). Both engines are mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox. The rear-wheel-drive is standard, while the AWD will be optional extra.
2011 Chrysler 300 will be unveiled at the NAIAS and the first deliveries will be in the first quarter of 2011 .

While the powerful SRT8 edition is gone from the Chrysler 300 lineup for 2011, the revamped sedan will be offered in four trim levels: 300 ($27,995), 300 Limited ($31,995), 300C ($38,995) and 300C AWD ($41,145). Prices on the 2010 models ranged from $28,010 to $38,165.
The basic 2011 Chrysler 300 is powered by the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, replacing the previous 2.7-liter unit. Output of the 3.6 V6 is 292 horsepower and torque is 260 pound-feet. EPA city/highway fuel economy is 18/27 miles per gallon. The V6 is standard on the 300 and 300 Limited. The 363-hp 5.7-liter Hemi V8 is fitted to the Chrysler 300C and 300C AWD.
